Yoga: An Unmet Need

I was neither impressed nor interested in yoga when I was introduced to it. I saw it from a distance and had respect for the discipline of it, but I never saw it as something I would take up.

From that safe distance, I arrogantly assumed that if I did try it, I’d take to it like a duck to water. I had made a temporary career out of personal training, and those around me often assumed I was a yoga practitioner. But I never claimed any affiliation with it.

It’s been quite a journey to arrive where I am today—enjoying daily practices of asana, meditation, and pranayama. I’ve completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and earned my certification. Yet it has not been even close to as intuitive as I thought it would be.

That being said, I feel like I’m exactly where I need to be. I am absolutely grateful for this lifestyle and its many benefits. It feels like one of the best things I never knew I needed.

I’m looking forward to sharing that journey with you—and hearing how you experience it, too.

I saw a post that claimed overstimulated women don’t need rest, they need release. It sounded like click bait. Sometimes called rage bait. I can feel when I’m being managed. Not the kind of management from a boss at work who sees me as a number, although I think many of us feel that kind a lot. No, I’m talking about when someone whom you’ve had a closer connection with starts acting differently without giving you any context…
